The Banana Bread and Circus Republic Podcast

The Banana Bread and Circus Republic Podcast’s objective is to explore the ethics of humanity’s course of evolution. We intend to unify intelligent minds and heal the wounds of discord, with emphasis on the humorous aspects of humanity’s technological obsessions, and the current pitfalls in between. This gives us the opportunity to think outside the box, and explore with a light heart, which speaks to the humanitarian values and comedic outlets we live by. This sense of levity gives us hope to reconcile a new quality of life for the inquisitive. In short, this podcast aims to help people. While the podcast embraces the spirit of having fun, the BBCR endorses responsible substance use, respectful language, and cohesive skill building.

13. 2024 here we come

Sunday Jan 07, 2024

Sunday Jan 07, 2024

In this episode, we started the year off in a relatively heavy manner, topically speaking. We discussed strange magnetic phenomena on opposing southern and northern hemispheres and somehow ended up talking about how the field we are part of is listening to what we have to say. Sometimes it pays to listen to how those reverberations come back around. Avoid fundamentalistic dogma and extremism and keep those skulls on swivels, not on bones. Don't forget to leave us a review and share with your friends.

12. Closing thoughts of 2023

Sunday Dec 31, 2023

Sunday Dec 31, 2023

In this episode, we reflected on some takeaways from the last year of nonsense, including our questionable agricultural practices in the United States, our inability to self-reflect on our mistakes, and our egregious obsessions with war that have accumulated from years past. We went down the fungal rabbit hole, talking about how magical the mycelial world is and how fortunate we are to be here in the first place. Happy New Year to you all, thanks again for listening!

Friday Dec 22, 2023

This episode was recorded in early July 2023, which is when we reflected on some recent adversity that ChrisP experienced with a black bear. Nature can be brutal, and we should all remember not to hang our hat on any artificial plans we may have - cause unfortunately Nature doesn't care about our silly plans. Rather than being a hubris prick, too clever for our own good, and consumed with frustration centered around an inevitable setback, let us take a moment to step back and consider these things as learning opportunities for deeper wisdom and creativity.

Monday Dec 18, 2023

This episode was recorded on July 9th, 2023 when we sat down with our good friend, Tom to discuss some topics related to food systems, hunting, and self-reliance. Some of the big takeaways from this episode revolved around how good art, in whatever medium, is the remedy to get back in touch with the biological world we are entangled with. And stand against the corporate monster dedicated to disenfranchising us from our sovereign rights to clean, fresh, and reliable sources of nourishment for our bodies and brains. Thank you for joining us, Tom! Be sure to follow him on Instagram @mammelhandles.

7. Economics and Ecosystems

Thursday Dec 14, 2023

Thursday Dec 14, 2023

This episode was recorded in late June of 2023, and we talked about some of the parallel dynamics of economic forces and energetic ecosystems. Where equilibrium is sought across environments and kingdoms of life. Within this intersection of ideas, we speculate on how this applies to our true potential to confront our tendency to conform and learn how to navigate the path to success and personal fulfillment.
In the words of the great Earl Nightingale, "Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal." Big thanks to Earl Nightingale! One caveat we'd like to add: he means progressive in the old-world term of progress, no political affiliation.

Sunday Dec 10, 2023

This episode was recorded in mid-June of 2023. Benji joined us for another opportunity to reflect on practical skill-building, the economy of bartering, and what we can do for ourselves during our time of extremes - from a world-based monetary system to weather manipulation and climate change. Now is the time to join hands and work together to reclaim our freedoms and our sense of self-sovereignty.
Huge shout out to the talented musician and composer, Cosmo Sheldrake and his brother, Merlin Sheldrake. Be sure to check out Cosmo's music on Spotify and iTunes. And feel free to follow them on Instagram @cosmosheldrake and @merlin.sheldrake. They also make a new fermented hot sauce together called Sheldrake and Sheldrake. For more information, be sure to follow them on Instagram @sheldrakesauce.
And a big shout out to Maynard James Keenan and his cabaret band, Puscifer. Check out their latest record, Existential Reckoning, available on iTunes and wherever you get your music. Bedlamite is one of our favorite songs they've done, and we were truly excited to be able to play it on the podcast for ChrisP's birthday.  With all the chaos going on in the world today, we felt it was time our audience had a taste of its brilliant relevance.

Sunday Dec 03, 2023

In this episode, we chillaxed on the front porch enjoying an array of goodies, including pigs in a blanket with that dank 78 Spicy Ketchup, and Humbiont Mead of course. We touched on some cool topics, from our hidden histories to the ethical qualities of accounting and business, and met some friendly neighbors and their lovely pooches along the way. With cigars, and advice on how to properly smoke your doobies (and no, that's not on how to row your boat while doing so), we tried to bring levity to what some might consider to be a grim holiday.

Sunday Nov 26, 2023

In this episode, Benji joined us to discuss life growing up, skill building, the downward trends that we're facing through certain technological challenges, or the possibility that this all might be a simulation...And how we don't need to eat bugs if we don't want to...(pardon the intermittent buzzy background noise).
